Welcome

The College of Communication & Information at Florida State University is one of the newest Colleges on campus. It was formed in 2009 with the merger of the College of Information and the College of Communication. This resulted in the formation of three schools within the new College (School of Information, School of Communication, and the School of Communication Science & Disorders).

The College is the home for the (proposed) Center for Health Informatics.  The Center will serve as a home for Health Informatics research, teaching, and service at FSU. The Center is affiliated with other departments on campus and local healthcare organizations. The Center’s focus is information management and information technology in the area of consumer health informatics, health communication, and health information exchange. Our research will also extend to health messaging, health communication, medical informatics, nursing informatics, public health informatics, consumer informatics, and health policy issues.

We will apply our expertise with information management to:

-Conduct research in the area of health informatics (technology, information, outcomes)
-Educate students to meet the growing need for health informaticians
-Partner with healthcare organizations to provide practical solutions for healthcare
